Low-Poly Forest
This project was essentially my first large-scale project that involved using three-dimensional programs to make art. When starting this project, I knew Rhino 3D, but was always interested in the capabilities of Blender.
I made a forest because I like to think of myself as a huge nature fan. Forests bring me comfort. I chose the low-poly style because at the time, I hadn’t had much knowledge of normal maps and other various texture modifiers. This was a perfect starting point into Blender as it made plenty use of all the modifiers available.
Calling attention to the bear in the scene, This 3d Model was scanned using a lidar device to create a 3D mesh of the figure. The mesh was then re-meshed and the textures were baked on to the low poly model. This greatly reduced the polygon count on the model. Later, I decided to rig the mesh and made the bear leaning up!
Programs Used: Blender 3D, Reality Capture, Instant Mesh, Adobe Substance Painter, Adobe Photoshop

This shows how I merged the UVs of a mesh to just a single vertices allowing me to easily color everything in the scene
